Elena Portales’ practice focuses primarily on New Jersey and New York general and estate litigation, estate planning and administration. Ms. Portales has represented Fortune 500 companies as well as individual clients in a broad array of matters including contract disputes, consumer fraud claims, financial services litigation, property tax appeals, partnership/shareholder disputes, defamation actions and insurance coverage claims. She also represents individuals in the area of estate planning and special needs planning. This includes advising clients on gift and estate tax considerations and techniques, which often involve complex drafting of Wills and trusts.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Portales was associated with Reed Smith, LLP, one of the world’s largest and leading international law firms, where she practiced in the area of commercial litigation and financial services litigation.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Ms. Portales was the comptroller of a mid-sized insurance agency in New Jersey and had an extensive career in high-end residential property management in Florida.
Ms. Portales was recognized by New Jersey Super Lawyers as a Rising Star among practitioners in 2012 and 2013.
